This week, we're officially announcing the next ATProto Community Conference: ATmosphereConf 2026 will take place in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Many of you have already saved the date, thank you! We're not quite ready to release tickets, but you can leave your email to get notified when the early bird tickets go live.

Early Supporters

Bluesky stepped up as the first sponsor, but actually more than that. The Bluesky team was so pleased to see the first community conference in Seattle this past March 2025: an ATProto conference, not a Bluesky one.

Bluesky wanted to continue that tradition and reached out to suggest that Boris Mann take on a paid contract to deliver the next conference, as well as have Bluesky be the first anchor sponsor.

Next up was Streamplace. Founder Eli said yes right away in early discussions, and also signed on to volunteer to handle A/V for the conference. We'll have at least two tracks with streaming this year, and would love to talk more about what remote participation looks like.

Cosmik Network has already kicked off early discussions about ATproto X Science in the forum. They've stepped up to sponsor the conference, as well as flesh out a side event focused on science communications & sense making on ATProto.

And thank you to another returning sponsor: Graze. Feeds are at the core of connecting users with community content, and on top of that Graze has been funding and release open source tools and infrastructure.

We have a few more early sponsors we're talking to, and we'd love to talk about your ideas for focused events, activities, or anything else you'd like to convene at the conference.

Event

The core conference days are Saturday, March 28th and Sunday, March 29th. We have the venue booked for the two days prior (March 26th & 27th) with smaller theaters and break out rooms for everything from extended events to developer training to building together.

And we're putting together a Vancouver Locals volunteer crew to take you hiking and dining and exploring other shared interests in the area.

In Seattle, we had 179 on site attendees, and about 100 people actively watching streams and chatting remotely. For Vancouver, we're aiming for 350 people in person, and have room for more!

Venue

We've secured a gorgeous venue at the University of British Columbia (UBC) campus out on the peninsula, and are finalizing nearby hotel bookings.

With two theaters, a beautiful foyer, lounges, breakout rooms plus an open atrium and stunning staircase, we're pretty excited to be at The Nest.

The lobby atrium of The Nest building with sweeping stairs going up and the wood feature of the landing.

Atrium entryway to The Nest.

Foyer with artwork, windows, and interesting patterned carpet.

Great Hall Foyer where we'll be having catering and hang out space.

We Can Just Do Things

Together.

Join us in person and online to learn and share and grow the ATProto community together.

We've got more to share in the coming weeks, highlighting more of the people involved, to this year's new look Gustopher design that is underway.

Enter RSVP on Smoke Signal, enter your email in the interest form, save the date, and stay tuned!

If you're interested in sponsoring, speaking, or otherwise have questions about getting involved, get in touch, and you can also coordinate plans in the forum.
