This year's global community ATProto conference is coming to Vancouver, BC, Canada on March 26–29th, 2026, and we’re looking for speakers, workshop facilitators, and discussion leaders to help shape the program.
Last year brought together protocol developers, app builders, researchers, journalists, community organizers, and curious newcomers. This year, we’re building on that foundation. ATmosphereConf isn’t just for people writing code—it’s for anyone thinking seriously about decentralized social media and what it means for how we communicate, organize, and build online.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome proposals across three broad areas:
Development and Protocols — Technical deep-dives, implementation challenges, tooling, infrastructure, interoperability, and the nuts and bolts of building on ATProtocol.
Media and Civics — Journalism, content moderation, trust and safety, policy implications, digital rights, and the societal dimensions of decentralized platforms.
Community — Governance, community building, accessibility, adoption strategies, and the human side of decentralized networks.
Session Formats
Workshops (Thursday and Friday, March 26–27) — Hands-on sessions where attendees learn by doing. These can be technical or non-technical.
Presentations (Saturday and Sunday, March 28–29) — Focused talks sharing research, projects, perspectives, or lessons learned.
Discussions (Saturday and Sunday, March 28–29) — Facilitated conversations that bring multiple viewpoints into dialogue.
Lightning Talks — We’re still determining the format and scope. If you have something brief and punchy to share, let us know.
Submission Guidelines
Your proposal should be 500 words or less. Be specific about what you’ll cover and why it matters. We want to understand your topic clearly, not read your entire talk in advance. If you feel additional context is essential, email us separately.
Please think carefully about your intended audience. Is this for developers familiar with ATProtocol internals? People new to decentralized systems? Journalists trying to understand the landscape? Policy folks? Be explicit because it helps us build a balanced program and helps attendees find the right sessions.
Important Requirements
ATmosphereConf is an in-person conference. All speakers, facilitators, and discussion leaders must attend in person in Vancouver. Please confirm you can commit to this before submitting.
All sessions will be recorded and made available publicly. By submitting, you agree to being recorded.
Travel Assistance
We have some limited funds available to help with travel and accommodation costs. If financial support would make the difference in your ability to attend, please indicate this in your submission. We can’t guarantee assistance for everyone, but we don’t want cost to be the only reason a great proposal doesn’t happen.
