The first round of the call for presentations is now open for AtmosphereConf. New this year, we're running a dedicated CfP platform. Head over to submit your proposal, read on to learn more about what we're looking for.
Two rounds of CfP
We're running the Call for Presentations in two rounds. This first call opens today, and runs until November 30th, 2026. We'll send out our first round of confirmed speakers by December 18th, 2026.
Most slots are filled in round 1, and we keep room in round 2 for new topics and things that come up early next year. Need a visa or travel support to come to The Netherlands? Please submit in round 1, so there's enough time to arrange it. Proposals from round 1 that we like but can't place yet are automatically considered again in round 2.
Guido and Ms Boba are leading the CfP process, and are gathering a content committee with specific areas of interest organized into tracks.
Dreamers Wanted
We want to hear from those who are building, using, and dreaming up the Atmosphere (the open network of apps and services built on AT Protocol), as well as the future of the wider web1.
That's developers, of course. But it's also researchers, artists, journalists, community builders, creators, moderators, policy people, people wranglers, and anyone running something on AT Protocol or seeking to make change on the internet.
If you don’t see your unique combination of interests and skills here...that’s why you should submit!
First-time speakers are more than welcome.
Themes
We've got four broad themes: Build, Create, Inform, and Govern:
Build: how the Atmosphere gets made. Apps, infrastructure, protocol work, developer tooling, data, and research that goes into technical minutiae.
↳ Want to talk about how something works, how you built it, or how you broke it? Weekend projects or production infrastructure...that's Build!Create: what people make with (and in) the Atmosphere. Art, music, writing, games, fandom, creator businesses, and all the wonderful, chaotic (not to mention, wonderfully chaotic) internet culture in between.
↳ Want to talk about making things, building culture, or what creativity and connection look like past walled gardens? Code or no code...that’s Create!Inform: how news and knowledge spread through the Atmosphere. Journalism, media organizations, publishing, newsletters, podcasts, science communication, and relentless fact-checking.
↳ Want to talk about how to keep people informed, or help them trust what's out there? Large newsrooms or one-person blogs...that's Inform!Govern: how we make decisions and protect each other. Moderation, trust & safety, community governance, privacy, permissioned data as rights, public sector, regulation, and policy.
↳ Want to talk about rules, power, and how we shape decisions and keep communities safe? Community mods or policymakers...that’s Govern!
Not sure? Ask yourself who you want there most: developers (Build), makers and fans (Create), people who publish (Inform), or those who shape and protect our spaces (Govern).
You can't pick wrong: your choice helps us match proposals to reviewers, but we'll still move them between themes if necessary.
What makes for great proposals
The best ones tell us:
what you built, studied, or ran
what you care about, and why others should too
what you learned (whether it worked or not)
what people can take home from your session, including calls to action to join and support what you've started
There's no need to over-polish. We welcome all works in progress, open questions, and "here’s where I'm stuck"s. We all have something—many things—worth sharing, so share yours with us!
Just remember: we know you’re proud of what you’re building (so are we!), but AtmosphereConf is about sharing knowledge, not promoting projects. A proposal that feels too much like a sales pitch won’t get past review.2
Tracks
We've got a number of people we've recruited to help curate and shape topic areas across our four broad themes as part of the content committee.
We'll highlight topics across 4 days, or strategically cluster talks so they go from beginner to advanced, or overview to deep dive.
This is roughly what a track is: a way to get a focused guide on areas that you're especially interested in. This helps you find your people!
Side Events
We're pleased to announce that ATScience is partnering with SciOS 3 and have let us know they'd like to work on a 2-day science & academic focused side event. We're still working out the details, we'll run a combined CfP program curated by ATScience, and make it easy to get your science fix throughout the conference.
With this being the first time hosting AtmosphereConf in Europe, we absolutely want to hear about European focused projects and opportunities. We are working on confirming track leads and/or a dedicated side event for European policy and builders to come together, and in the meantime feel free to propose talks that fit this theme.
We are also in discussions with a few other groups who are interested in co-locating with AtmosphereConf 2027. We're happy to join forces with aligned groups!
For side events, or for any other questions, feel free to email us directly speakers @ atmosphereconf.org. Sound like something you want to sponsor? Amazing! Hit us up at sponsors @ atmosphereconf.org.
Follow for more announcements and updates. We'll be adding to the Frequently Asked Questions page as things come up.
